Welcome, you have arrived at the Farm

Chemical- and antibiotic-free food, from community farming.

Join Europe's only farming association whose aim is to restore the gut flora and build a healthy microbiome with antibiotic-free food.

The Farm's vision

Why did we create Cservölgy Major?

Farming, food production and healing lie along one line. Each of them plays an important part in protecting and restoring our health. We created Cservölgy Major so that we, as doctors, can keep everything needed to restore the health of the gut flora and to treat digestive problems in one pair of hands.

A doctor's dream

Cservölgy Major was dreamed up by dr. Patay Gábor, a physician, and his wife, who firmly believe that the health of the Hungarian population can best be improved with clean, chemical-free food. The Farm's aim is to provide its members with chemical- and antibiotic-free food through traditional farming methods and by pulling together as a community.

A community

The Farm is also a community, where everyday life is shaped by the strength of working together. Every member contributes in some way: be it keeping goats, volunteering, or transporting the meat. All of it freely given. Here we all share the responsibility and the joy that come from working together and producing clean food.

A sustainable farm

Cservölgy Major uses sustainable farming methods without chemicals or antibiotics, so that every ingredient is clean and natural. Our aim is to produce healthy food for the community without nature suffering for it.

A holistic approach

We actively use what the farm provides in healing, in Microbiota Transfer Therapy (MTT). If someone keeps eating the same contaminated food, no medical intervention can succeed. And to have suitable donors, healthy people have to be fed well too.

An example to follow

The work done at the Farm creates value not only for our own community; we hope it inspires others too. Our aim is that instead of industrial mass production and the chronic illnesses it causes, more and more people choose a way of life and a diet close to nature — and with it, health.

Everyday life at the Farm

Discover the magic of Cservölgy Major

On our farm we keep our animals free of chemicals and antibiotics, so that we can provide clean and healthy food. Meals made from it truly help your recovery, like medicine.

  • Here in the heart of the Cserhát, on endless green meadows and in fresh air, we work with traditional methods.
  • Every one of our animals is carefully looked after, and members of the community also take an active part in the work on the farm.
  • This is how the connection forms between the food and the place that creates it.
Join us and experience what real nutritional value does for your body, what sustainability means, and the joy that comes from working together and being close to nature.

What you get

What do I get from the Farm as a member?

As a member of Cservölgy Major you regularly receive carefully selected meat packages from sustainable farming, free of chemicals and antibiotics. The meat packages come from local animal husbandry, produced with methods close to nature, so that we can give our members the best quality.

About 20 kg of meat a year

Every year you are entitled to roughly 20 kg of veal and/or lamb/goat meat, as you choose. Cuts and meat products straight from the cutting room.

Two collection periods

As a member you can collect the roughly 20 kg packages in two instalments, at the end of February and at the end of November each year.

Community events

You are warmly welcome at our community events too, where alongside the secrets of sustainable animal husbandry you can also discover the inspiring world of health-conscious living and meet the doctors of our community.

What do I get from the Farm as a member?

Our planned programmes

Mushroom foraging

Led by an expert, participants can safely gather the local mushroom species and get to know the estate.

Bonfire and bacon roasting

Tasting local products — cheese and sourdough bread, for example — and roasting bacon over the fire.

Educational programmes

At every event there are educational programmes about life on the farm, sustainable farming, preserving biodiversity and the MicroBiome Bank.

Micro-community

Clean food, a simple system, shared responsibility

The strength of community farming lies in shared responsibility. In the earlier system 1 family received a fraction of 1 animal, which meant complicated administration with many members. Now 5–6 families = 1 micro-community: less administration, smoother running, so uncompromising food is within reach for more people.

1

Form a circle

Form a circle of friends made up of 5–6 families.

2

Choose your animals

Decide together how many animals you would like.

3

Name a contact person

Name one contact person who keeps in touch with the Farm and arranges the collection of the meat on the slaughter day.

The Farm's pioneering role

In support of medical science

In microbiome transplantation, feeding the donors properly is essential. Chemical-free, clean and natural food contributes to the donors' optimal gut flora and to the effectiveness of the transplantation. This is how we can ensure the microbiome health and diversity of the MicroBiome Bank's donors. With this method not only does the success of the therapy improve significantly, quality of life improves too. Food produced at Cservölgy Major supports health in the long run.

Frequently asked questions

What is worth knowing about membership

How much meat do I get as a member in a year?
Every year you are entitled to roughly 20 kg of veal and/or lamb/goat meat, as you choose. You can collect the packages in two instalments, at the end of February and at the end of November each year.
What does “community farming” mean?
Membership takes place within the framework of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA): with the “livestock sale and purchase contract” you buy, every year, the animal we raise for you, and by signing the “livestock keeping agreement” you take on the costs of raising that animal.
What is a micro-community?
5–6 families who know each other well form a micro-community, which keeps one calf and the chosen number of lambs together. This means less administration, smoother running, and uncompromising food within reach for more people.
How long does membership last?
Membership lasts until 31 December, and is automatically extended unless the member indicates by 30 November that they do not wish to continue.
Do I have to do physical work at the Farm?
We would like you to contribute to our work in some way. We notify you in writing about the community occasions organised at the Farm — taking part builds the strength of the community, it is not a required performance.
What is the connection with the MicroBiome Bank?
Several members of the farm are microbiota donors for the MicroBiome Bank. Chemical-free, clean food is the basis of an optimal gut flora, which is why we provide membership free of charge for the donors.
How can I apply?
Read through the conditions on the Documentation page, then register. With the details you give us we will send you the contracts, which you can sign digitally with two clicks. After signing we send you a copy as well.
